The 2012 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Draft list was released last week and several players with ties to Connecticut hockey made the list:

It should noted that, per a new rule instituted by the QMJHL at the end of last year, each team must now draft at least two American-born players. So while last year’s draft only saw four players with local ties get drafted (Adam Erne, Ryan Segalla, Kevin Duane, Marc Biega), that number should increase this year.
The 2012 list also features several repeats from last year including East Haven’s Greg Harney and Choate standout Owen Powers, among others.
The 2012 QMJHL draft will take place in June.
